Sha Tin Hong Kong Heritage Museum|【ICH Funding Scheme】Book Launch: The Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage Series

Funded by the Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) Funding Scheme, the research team of the South China Research Center of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has authored a series of monographs on the items of the Representative List of the ICH of Hong Kong based on fieldwork records, archives and oral history. The first four publications, namely “Mid-Autumn Festival - The Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance”, “Hakka Unicorn Dance in Hang Hau in Sai Kung”, “Taoist Ritual Tradition of the Zhengyi School” and “Tin Hau Festival in Hong Kong” have been published earlier, while the latest, “Tai O Dragon Boat Water Parade” will be published in late September!
To enhance the public's understanding of ICH, the book promotion activity will be hosted by the author of these five monographs – Professor Liu Tik-sang, Associate Professor Emeritus, Division of Humanities, HKUST, who will join hands with the guest speaker, Dr Ma Kin-hang, Matt (Lecturer, Department of Social Sciences and Policy Studies, the Education University of Hong Kong), also the co-author of “Taoist Ritual Tradition of the Zhengyi School”, to share the research outcomes on the historical development, social context, and significance of these items on the Representative List of the ICH of Hong Kong. Professor Liu will also invite protection organisations of these items to share their insights! Please come and join us!
